Historical Overview of Alumíniumárugyár
On May 10, 1899, the predecessor of Alumíniumárugyár, Magyar Fémlemezipar Rt. (Hungarian Sheet Metal Industry Co.), was established. Initially, the factory manufactured tin utensils, signboards, metal ornaments, and children's toys.
In 1906, the plant relocated to its current site on Erzsébet királyné street. In the spirit of continuous development, the machinery of the Spindler tin factory was acquired in 1914, followed by the commissioning of an aluminum rolling mill in 1933.
The extensive damage caused by World War II was fully restored by 1947. In 1948, the plant became state-owned and continued its operation under the name Alumíniumárugyár.
From the 1950s, the mass production of aluminum utensils and equipment commenced. Starting in the 1960s, as a defining milestone in the company's history, the production of low-pressure aluminum gas cylinders was launched. This product line, encompassing the manufacturing and distribution of aluminum gas cylinders, became one of the company's most essential core activities.
Following its privatization, the company has continued its operations under the name Alumíniumárugyár Zrt. since 1993. Since then, up to the present day, our operations have been characterized by continuous technological and product development, utilizing state-of-the-art manufacturing solutions.

On May 10, Magyar Fémlemezipar Rt., the predecessor of Alumíniumárugyár, was established. In its early years, the factory manufactured tinware household items, nameplates, metal ornaments, and children’s toys.
In 1906, the factory moved to its current site on Erzsébet királyné Road. As part of its continuous development, the machinery of the Spindler tinware factory was acquired in 1914, followed by the commissioning of an aluminium rolling mill in 1933.
The extensive damage caused by World War II was fully restored by 1947. In 1948, the plant became state-owned and continued its operation under the name Alumíniumárugyár. From the 1950s onward, the mass production of aluminium cookware and household tools began. One of the most significant milestones in the company’s history followed in the 1960s with the launch of low-pressure aluminium gas cylinder manufacturing. The production and distribution of aluminium gas cylinders has since remained one of the company’s core activities.
Following privatization, the company continued its operation as Alumíniumárugyár Zrt. from 1993 onward. Since then – including today – continuous technological and product development has remained a defining part of our operation through the application of modern manufacturing solutions.
